We partner with some of the world’s leading homebuilding brands to ensure your home is equipped with safe, sustainable, long-lasting and innovative products. Beyond the elevated products in our homes, we build Clayton Built® homes to our own exact standard, exceeding minimum requirements. Whether it’s added strength in your flooring system, or extra protection against the elements, we obsess over the details of your home to ensure durability and quality are there for a lifetime.
We believe in going above and beyond what’s expected to build homes that are efficient, dependable and beautiful so that you can sit back, relax and enjoy your new home.
Clayton Built® homes are constructed with the vast network of knowledge and expertise of our nearly 10,000 valued team members. Our hardworking team members share a resounding commitment to help our customers Build Happyness® by having a quality and beautiful home to call their own.
Along with partnering with some of the world's leading homebuilding brands, Clayton Built® homes are built to be as long-lasting as they are good looking.
Whether it’s added strength in your flooring system, or extra protection against the elements, we obsess over the details of your home to ensure durability to last a lifetime. Here are a few examples of how we do just that.
The foundation of a strong home starts with just that, the foundation. That’s why all Clayton Built® homes have flooring systems that feature floor joists 16-inches on center. When building with 16-inch on center, a 56-foot home will have roughly 48% more lumber compared to building at 24-inch on center*. The added lumber in a Clayton Built® flooring system means there’s greater stability, improved longevity of the home and less deflection and crowning.
*A 56-foot home built with 24-inch on center floor joists typically has 29 joists floor joists compared to a home with 16-inch on center typically having 43 joists in the flooring system.
Keeping outdoor elements where they belong, in the outdoors, is an essential part of any home. To ensure all Clayton Built® homes are fully sealed, our home building facilities add a layer of protective foam tape between exterior walls, the floor and the roof. It’s an added defense to keep your home comfortable and energy efficient.
By adding a self-adhesive tape that seals around windows, doors and other small openings like dryer vents and exterior lights in homes with vinyl and lap* siding, Clayton Built® homes have an added guard against water and air in vulnerable areas. This small detail can help improve energy efficiency, minimize outdoor noise and pest intrusion.
*Window and door flashing only applicable on horizontal lap siding homes at this time.
